Harambe was a 440 pound, Western Lowland gorilla and was only 17 years old when he lost his life. Most gorillas live until 45 so it is doubly sad that Harambe is no longer with us.  Harambe sadly passed away because a Cincinnati Zoo official shot him. He said it was a life or death situation. A small boy had fallen into the gorilla cage and it looked like Harambe might harm the child.  Officials then made the decision to kill the gorilla in order to save the boy.
I want to debunk this reasoning because I think Harambe was actually saving the little kid’s life, but zoo officials didn’t realize that. Allegedly, there is a report from a website which reports that 15,000 people voted for Harambe in the presidential elections. Long live the memory of this wonderful gorilla!
